A fire on Jericho Road reported around 11:00 P.M. Saturday brought out firefighters from the Summit Township, Jackson, Blackman-Leoni Township, and Spring Arbor. Summit township adminisitrative fire chief John Worden said there was only one occupant, who made it out of the structure safely, and that about half the home was destroyed.

If about half the home was destroyed, what do you do with the undestroyed half? Sell it for half price? Or nail a new half onto it? Live in the smaller space? What if the cable and electricity and water came into the destroyed side? Or if the bathroom was on that side? Where do you do your business? Hmph. What do you do with an undestroyed half of a home? You could eat a lot, I suppose, if the kitchen were on the undestroyed side ...
