Susan Mefford, of Grass Lake, drags scrap metal to a truck driven by Louie Boone, 87, oldest member of the Waterloo Hunt Club, Saturday morning during the club's annual Earth Day clean-up in the Waterloo Recreation Area. The event has been going on for over 20 years and the Hunt Club cooperates with the DNR to continue it in the recreation area. First-time organizer and Hunt Club member Sally Mcalinden said about 80 volunteers participated in the cleanup this year, aging from 3 to 87. Half the volunteers, Mcalinden said, were kids from the Grass Lake 4-H Commandos. Nearly 30 tires were collected and a 30-yard dumpster was filled from the cleanup collection.
