toys for tots

Spent yesterday afternoon cruising a Midland neighborhood with Horse Tales 4H club as they collected for Toys for Tots. The girls were belting Christmas carols, cheering on a tired mini-horse, and running alongside a fourwheeler train transporting the gathered toys. They were so grateful the paper was covering their collection...I was just grateful to be the one there to cover it. Being outside and photographing teenagers supporting a great cause to preview the holiday season? I'm the most blessed, and I can't wait for the pictures to be made in the next month.

we all looked like high school kids.

...the March kid gang adventured to one of the few attractions in my small U.P. hometown. Cat found an old American Eagle fur vest and rocked it to Taco Bell, Josh was in his typical athletic shorts and hoodie combination, Laurie IS in high school, and I was all in oldschool skater wear. Silliness.

But it's Cat's vest that takes the cake.

Nothin' like going home, winter-prepping the garage to 70s radio, getting an early birthday present (a vintage '78 3-speed Huffy cruiser!), and fall apples from friends' trees...




...yes, that is the actual license plate registration, probably circa early 80s, on my birthday bike. We live in Dickinson County, so there you go.
